In late March 2021, SWCS also officially signed the United Nations Climate Neutral Now pledge, promoting an eco-friendly and carbon neutral lifestyle.

The United Nations is the first intergovernmental organisation to hold a discussion on climate change. In 1992, the United Nations established the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and in December 1997, the Kyoto Protocol was passed to extend the UNFCCC. On 12th December 2015, the Paris Agreement was signed by 197 countries from the UN at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in France. Target to reduce global greenhouse gas emission substantially to limit the global temperature increase in this century to 2 degrees Celsius.
